Accessibility and design equity in education

NSW Department of Education educates more than 750,000 students in 2,300 preschools, primary and high schools, colleges and specialist schools. It also regulates some 5,000 daycare centres covering the life of a child from 0 to 18. The department believes in the common good of public education and value the personal satisfaction that comes from being part of a system which nurtures our local communities. Accessibility is key not only to good design but inclusion. This presentation presents the department’s approach and highlights some of its initiatives.
